Small Hand Sifter (12" x 14"), 1/4" Polyethylene Screen

Our hand sifters are comprised of 1” x 4” New England White Pine. Steel handles are mounted on the outside of the sifter box to protect hands from impact by sifting material. The handles are bolted through the sifter ends and securely sealed with steel epoxy to prevent loosening. Our small hand sifter’s compact design is perfect for wilderness survey. The sifter fits inside most field packs or can easily be attached to the outside of a pack via its open steel handles. Our small hand sifter has a screen area of 12” x 14”. Our standard hand sifter has a screen area of 14” x 20”.

Our polyethylene mesh screens are specifically designed to assist in the recovery of sensitive law enforcement evidence or delicate artifacts. Polyethylene mesh minimizes abrasion of bullet casings and helps prevent damage to fragile ceramics and bone. Because polyethylene mesh does not offer the same load-bearing ability as steel mesh, we offer a high-density plastic strapping for reinforcement. Simply choose “Plastic Strapping” (item No. PSTRP) under our Optional Screen Features.
