During this time of COVID-19 we are short-staffed and are therefore running 4 weeks in production. If you need your order sooner, we will endeavor to meet that need. Please call us and let us know how we can best serve you. Your patience during this time is greatly appreciated

Due to dramatic cost increases of white pine and other raw materials over the last year, we at Stoney Knoll have been forced to increase our sifting screen prices. Please know that we are always committed to providing the highest quality products at the lowest price possible. Thank you for your understanding and thank you for your continued patronage over the last 22 years!

About Our Screens

stoney_knoll.jpg

Stoney Knoll sifting screens are built to the exacting standards required for fieldwork in archaeology, paleontology, forensic science and law enforcement.  The screens have been tested through years of service and provide optimal performance under the toughest field conditions.  Using only the highest quality materials, each sifting screen is hand-built in our family owned, coastal Maine, shop.

The screens are comprised of select, clear, New England White Pine - which is lighter than Southern/Yellow Pine or Ponderosa Pine and resistant to splitting and twisting - making our screens durable, yet surprisingly light and easy to carry. The White Pine we use is SFI certified - meaning that the wood which comprises our screens is sustainably forested. (For more information about the SFI program, visit www.sfiprogram.org.) We do not, and will not, use wood species whose harvesting may be attributed to environmental degradation.  All wood is planed and sanded to eliminate rough edges prior to assembly. Rocking sifter handles are shaped for comfort during use.

At Stoney Knoll we use the best wire mesh for the job.  Our experience has proven that premium quality mesh translates into longer lasting screens, better control of soil and sifted materials, the most efficient use of energy (human power) and ultimately the best value for your dollar.

With every Stoney Knoll sifting screen product comes decades of field experience and reliability testing.  If you want to get the most out of your screens, you've come to the right place.
